Albert, the snow-bookworm

Now presenting.....Albert the Snow-Bookworm!
(We are slight nerds...but we are excessively proud of it!)

SNOW DAY!

Who knew you can have a snow day in graduate school!!!

We were very excited to receive text messages, e-mail confirmations, and cell phone calls from the automated university system verifying that IU is closed ALL DAY! Woo hoo!

We are hopeful to build a snowman, drink hot chocolate, and generally pretend we are in elementary school!

HOORAY FOR SNOW DAYS!

Tycho, the buried Toyota.

The view from my bedroom window.

The evergreens outside our kitchen window.

The apartment complex. I don't think we'll be venturing out today!

To all my friends and family, please be safe and enjoy the beautiful snow!

The Birthday That Never Ends

Feliz Cumpleanos (a mi)!

The official date of my arrival to this world was January 15, but truth be told, I believe my family celebrated my birth for a few more days after that. (Despite the fact that my mother lamented how much I looked like a squinty-eyed troll immediately after I was born. I don't know what she expected. Being born is not exactly a walk in the park!)

In order to relive these birth festivities, I thought it appropriate to celebrate my birthday for a couple of weeks. :) Mike said it was the longest birthday he had ever heard of, but he still brought me flowers and made me a birthday burrito (see flower pics below).

I had birthday with the family before coming back to Bloomington, birthday with Mike on my actual date of birth and birthday dinner with Grandpa and Deb last night. :) Tonight we are going to a soiree with SPEA, which I like to pretend is a soiree in honor of me and Martin Luther King, Jr., who was born on the same day. Then tomorrow is a Pride and Prejudice Marathon (pj's required).

Although not all festivities were planned with my birthday immediately in mind, the array of celebratory events has made for a very feliz cumpleanos! Thanks to everyone for celebrating with me!

This is the afghan that my roommate Allison crocheted for me for my birthday. It is so soft and not to mention, it is TURQUOISE! (My favorite!)
